"Mindfulness is a key element to self-compassion," teaches Dr. Kristin Neff. By practicing this simple and powerful skill, we can learn be with our difficult emotions without turning away, and develop a sense of loving connection with the disowned parts of ourselves.
On February 10-11, we invite you to join us for an immersive workshop on mindfulness and self-compassion with internationally recognized experts Kristin Neff, PhD and Shauna Shapiro, PhD. These two pioneering teachers will help you explore the unique and overlapping dimensions of mindfulness practice and compassion with the goal of integrating both in our personal and professional lives, including:
The latest theories and research on mindfulness, compassion, and self-compassion from Dr. Neff and Dr. Shapiro
The heart aspects of mindfulness—how cultivating a sense of kind awareness transforms our present moment experience
Why so many of us find it more difficult to give compassion to ourselves than others
How we can treat ourselves with the same sense of kindness we would show a close friend or loved one
How our shared sense of human imperfection can open the way to being more present with the inevitable struggles of life and meeting our challenges with greater ease
The role of mindfulness, compassion, and self-compassion in caregiving, with specific practices to help you integrate mindfulness and compassion into your personal and professional life
Research has shown both mindfulness and self-compassion practices to have a pronounced, positive effect in association with any form of therapy, healing, or life plan for promoting psychological and physical wellness. We hope you’ll join us as these two leaders in this emerging field of research share their most powerful findings and practices for cultivating these essential qualities with The Science of Mindfulness and Compassion.
