With Common Heart and Voice is a journey through sacred music from Scotland, England, and the United States. The vibrant traditions of Scots-Gaelic hymn lining, English West Gallery Music, and American Sacred Harp have common roots reaching back hundreds of years and share the aim of bringing people of all backgrounds together in song. Camerata Sonora is Tucson’s newest vocal chamber ensemble, founded by local composer Robert Lopez-Hanshaw and co-directed by Emily Lyons. Our members include both professional musicians and enthusiastic amateurs. We believe anyone can make music and that music is for everyone. With an emphasis on traditional music from diverse cultures and time periods, our unconventional performances highlight the connections between music, identity, and place, and leave listeners with a sense that traditional music is alive and constantly evolving.
Part of our venue's effort to bring quality, fun, and affordable events, concerts, and bands to 4th avenue in downtown Tucson, AZ.
